Djibouti wants to build a bridge over the Red Sea
The Ambassador of France in Djibouti, Rachad Farah, wished, Wednesday in Paris, the construction of a 28 km bridge between his country and Yemen, assuring that this book will serve as a link between the Africa and the Middle East. "Building this bridge about 28 km from the Red Sea is a technological challenge and financially. Relieve We hope with all our friends and partners," he said, shortly after the end of a symposium on the Horn of Africa . "This bridge will strengthen the existing economic exchanges between the Middle East and Africa. Gulf countries are now the leading investors in Djibouti. They are present in Senegal, Morocco, Sudan and the rest of Africa ", said the diplomat Djibouti. He also stressed the strategic position of Djibouti which he presented as the "outpost" of Africa on the Red Sea and as a "haven of peace" in the Horn of Africa beset by violence . "We want to put the strategic position of Djibouti and its socio-political stability in the service of relations between Africa and the Middle East," said Ambassador Farah, with an emphasis on the cultural and linguistic diversity of his country. "Djibouti is a Francophone country and surrounded by Arabic-English-speaking neighbours. We want to save our asset junction to serve the rest of Africa," the diplomat assured Djibouti. Referring to the situation in the Horn of Africa, he defended the policy of good neighbourliness and neutrality of his country. "President Ismail Omar Guelleh has opted for a policy of openness and good relations with all our neighbours. We observe strict neutrality in regional conflicts," says yet Farah, in an allusion to the civil war in Somalia and the border dispute between Ethiopia and Eritrea
